About Me

The Mastermind story is a unique and important chapter in the history of underground music in the UK originating and still based in London NW10.

Mastermind formed in the late Seventies, becoming pioneers by being one of the first soundsystems to specialise in Soul/R&B/Hip Hop within the UK which latterly included the then rapidly emerging Rap/Hip Hop artform.

Whilst never neglecting the Soul/Funk/R&B ethos Mastermind where the first to work alongside such Hip hop greats as Grand Master Flash, DJ Whizzkid, Afrika Bambaata in addition to many more hip hop icons gracing the Mastermind stage over the years.

Mastermind became widely renowned for performing at the Notting Hill Carnival, beginning next to Ladbroke Grove Station before moving the infamous ''caged '' area under the Westway, which became THE place to be at Carnival and in more recent years Canal Way next to Sainsburys at the top of Ladbroke Grove where we have continued in our quest to support signed and unsigned UK and international talent including Omar, Jamelia,Truce, Kele Le Roc, Jazzy Jeff, Eric Roberson, Junglist ‘’Incredible’’ General Levy & UK Apache, Tina Moore, Tinie Tempa, Donae'o, Jamaica’s finest in both Babycham & Sean Paul.

Mastermind are very active all year around at various functions and Events both nationally and Internationally and we pride ourselves on ensuring our music policy gives maximum enjoyment to all that attend any event we play and thank Colourful Radio for allowing the opportunity to present this enjoyment experience to the worldwide listening audience.
