About Me
People are amazed why I called myself FREESTYLE, ok this is why. Born in Freetown, Sierra Leone I believe that everyone has their STYLE, and to an extent everyone is FREE, therefore I got MYSTYLE and this is FREESTYLE.
The name FREESTYLE emerged when I started my first radio broadcasting experience with Lightening fm.
Fortunately for me, both my parents worked in Sierra Leone broadcasting service, now SLBC. My father was working in the account department whiles my mother facilitated a native programme in mende.
Since arriving in the UK, I have been constantly enjoying studying and learning new skills in media studies and cultural studies. In 2000 I achieved qualifications in HNC Radio Broadcasting and five years on, plenty of radio experiences have been acquired working as a voluntary presenter in various community radio stations. I continued at Voice of Africa radio, presented music and information shows twice a week.
I have worked alongside African musicians, the likes of Dembo Konte & Kausu Kuyateh, Abdul Teejay, Fae Simon, through interviews and promotions and other various musicians around the world ie Rapas from Spain.
I thrived on challenges because there are opportunities for development to enrich my love for music.
Now at Colourful radio I shall continue to deliver the best quality sounds, so welcome to my world of delicious recipe of selections and style.
