About Me

Aitch is one of “The Original Funki Dreds” and long standing a member of the world famous musical collective SOUL II SOUL.

He became part of the ORIGINAL SOUL II SOUL SOUND SYSTEM when he met Jazzie in 1983. Attaining and developing his knowledge and skills as a DJ from these early days, eventually his experience and reputation was further enhanced by being involved at those times, which almost single handily gained the UK dance music scene it's initial worldwide mainstream exposure, back in the late 1980’s.

From the "blues and warehouse" parties, to the birth of the "Original Rare Groove" scene, to the ground breaking Africa Centre on Sunday nights and then the legendary Friday nights at The Fridge, Brixton, Aitch was there on the cutting edge playing tunes that really mattered, further establishing him as a well known and respected figure helping to nurture London's expanding club scene.

During those times he was also heavily involved in the day to day organisation and running of the Soul II Soul clothing and music stores.

As SOUL II SOUL (The Band) stormed into the National Charts and began to spread their happy face, thumping base for loving race philosophy world-wide, Aitch employed his lyrical writing abilities and penned the lyrics for on of their biggest hits "Get A Life" as well as many other tracks on the various Soul II Soul albums and other music projects which include artiste such as James Brown and The Jones Girls.

He has had numerous opportunities and gained much experience by DJ-ing in all corners of the globe including countries such as Japan, Australia, USA, Germany, Italy, Cyprus, Greece Sweden, Denmark, Norway, South Africa, Brazil, Jamaica and Venezuela, as well as many major cities in the UK.

Aitch plays a selection of all things soulful from the 70's & 80's Classic Soul, Funk, Disco & Motown to latest funky, soulful, garage and disco house sounds, classic & new quality soul/R&B, Funky beats & breaks, Reggae and Jazz.
