Tricycle Cinema and COLOURFUL present the UK Screening of Jean Charles

COLOURFUL, in collaboration with The Tricycle Cinema, will be presenting a special screening of Jean Charles along with a Q&A session with the acclaimed director Henrique Goldman, on 9th December 2010, 8:30pm.

It is a brilliant dramatisation of the life and shocking death of Jean Charles. The film UK cinema goers have been denied the chance to see is depicted through the eyes of Charles’ teenage cousin who comes to live with him in London. It has won critical acclaim in both Toronto and Miami Film Festivals, and was one of the top grossing Brazilian productions last year.

A Brazilian girl comes to live with her cousin in London. He has already carved out a life for himself there; she hopes to do the same. It is 2005, a year in which the city will be traumatised by terrorist attacks. Both of them will be caught in the crossfire.

COLOURFUL’s very own breakfast co-presenter Toby Kell-ogg, will be presenting the director’s Q&A session. ‘As a London based radio station we care about London issues and are delighted to be working with The Tricycle Cinema in bringing this to public attention. It is a brilliant film that deserves to be seen.’ said Toby Kell-ogg.

Henrique Goldman commented, ‘From the beginning this was always going to be a film about outsiders. I saw it as an opportunity to tell another layer of this tragic story that nobody knew about, which is the life of Brazilians abroad’.
